Before reading Bill Sledzik’s blog about “What PR is Not,” I really had no idea what public relations was.  I am extremely embarrassed, but I actually thought PR was being the face of a company, prancing around in high heels, and being somewhat glamorous.  I think television shows put ideas into our head about what public relations is.  Now that I have been in my Public Relations class at Clemson University, I am getting a better understanding each day.

I really enjoyed reading “What public relations is not” becuase once again, I thought PR was exactly what the blog says that it is not.  The first few words that came to mind were in fact publicity and promotion.  I finally now realize that public relations is the actual mutual relationship between an organization and a public. Thank you to Bill Sledzick and to my PRinciples class at Clemson Universith–I am learning!
